Gastronomy
Under this heading we will provide information about EATING, DRINKING and ACCOMMODATION on the island of Crete. You will learn something about OLIVE OIL, WINE, CHEESE, and much more. In addition we will introduce you to tavernas and hotels which are not listed in every travel guide.
In the process we will check critically whether restaurants are using high quality produce, whether the price to service ratio is right, whether service is friendly and efficient, and whether rules of hygiene are being maintained. We will introduce you to original Cretan recipes, but we will also bring you international cuisine through restaurants and recipes.
This part of our site also exists through your cooperation: Introduce us to restaurants and tavernas, recommend hotels to us, and tell us of your experiences. We will publish only your name with your report.

Restaurants and accommodation that we have tested will be assessed by us and included in a list of recommendations. In contrast to other websites, we make strict separation between entries in the Business Directory and those in the list of recommendations. This means in practice that every restaurant or hotel can advertise with Kreta-abc - but in the list of recommendations only tried and tested establishments will be mentioned!
