Prefecture of Heraklion

A small village on the Libyan Sea.

From an insider tip, Lentas has evolved into a tourist destination on the south coast,  but it is remote and still very beautiful. Ancient Levin once stood on the site. Excavations have brought to light a sanctuary of Asklepios and a Byzantine basilica, as well as ancient graves. There is great agricultural activity in the area, with the cultivation of vegetables.
