Zaros

Votomos springs

A small village in the mountains, on the southern slope of Psiloritis and a favourite leisure destination for the Cretans. The springs, which in earlier times provided the ancient city of Gortys with water, feed a small lake today and several trout farming basins. Tavernas and hotels have established themselves around the lake, and their speciality is trout.  This is a beautiful spot for an alternative holiday.
